Will Zanzibar Host Miss World ? Island Welcomes Miss World Team

Zanzibar had a royal glow this past weekend as the Miss World delegation made a graceful visit to Kizimkazi, the southern coastal town known for its rich culture and ocean charm. Led by Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization, the team was warmly welcomed by Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan at her private residence. Among the guests were Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand, and Miss World Africa, Hasset Dereje Admassu from Ethiopia. The visit wasn’t just ceremonial, it sparked real excitement around the possibility of Tanzania and especially Zanzibar hosting the Miss World 2026 pageant.

As the delegation toured the island and experienced its beauty and hospitality, they saw firsthand why Zanzibar is ready for the global spotlight. The island’s rich heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and cultural pride make it a strong contender for hosting a world-class event like Miss World. If selected, the pageant could bring a major boost to Zanzibar’s tourism industry, open up global investment opportunities, and shine an even brighter light on local talent, fashion, and entrepreneurship. The visit may be over, but the hope it brought to the island feels like just the beginning.
